My role, stated plainly
I would rather state this here than have it surface on a technical call: I was a contributing engineer on this migration, not the lead. Lumen Tactical runs two storefronts, Longhorn Tactical and Nitecore Store. The replatform of longhorntactical.com from Volusion to Shopify was led by others, and I worked on a defined slice of it; the Nitecore Store side was not mine.
My slice was storefront build work: reusable theme components in Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and migrating legacy product structures into components that could support scalable storefront updates going forward. Those component patterns were later reused for the Nitecore Store storefront, Lumen Tactical's largest brand, though that rollout wasn't my work.
What I took from it
Working inside someone else's migration plan is its own skill, and it is most of what agency overflow work looks like: picking up scoped tickets in an unfamiliar codebase, matching existing conventions, and shipping without needing the whole context handed over first. This was also contract work, which is exactly the engagement shape I offer now.
